For my ECE 4760 final project, my partner and I made this robot that climbs white and black boards and automatically erases it. We worked off from my initial idea of an automated method of cleaning boards, something that I thought up by observing professors in the classroom. I noticed that professors would often quickly fill up a board and would have to take some time from the lecture to clean it up before they can continue. Something like our device, if engineered on a smaller scale, can potentially be a cheap and useful way to save the professor’s lecture times. Additionally, our device can be very useful with reaching extremely tall blackboards, something that is common in the college classroom and of which can’t be easily cleaned.
